Nissan insurance

High performance, passion and roaring power are the factors that define Nissan as a supreme brand. The competitive edge and hard, masculine lines of the Nissan have given the Japanese giant the opportunity to deliver a unique experience between the driver, his car and the open road. Made to travel effectively both off-road or in urban environments, the Nissan sells practical as well as luxury models under a range of diverse labels.

Nissan has produced a wide range of mainstream cars and trucks, initially for the domestic market but since the 1950s they have been exported around the world. Formerly manufactured under the Datsun name, the company began in 1914 as the Kwaishinsha Motorcar Works. The first DAT was built three years later, and it was named after the company's three partners' family names. In 1934 the new subsidiary, Nissan Motor, was added to the company, and the new owners were Nippon Sangyo and Hitachi.

Several years ago the Japanese car manufacturer was in trouble as the dated corporate culture saw the brand lose market share. The Nissan Revival plan was implemented when near-bankrupt Nissan merged with French carmaker Renault in 1999.

The first product of the Nissan-Renault alliance was the Nissan Primera, launched in 2001. Subsequently, Nissan's Micra, Note and Versa models have shared the same mechanical design as the Renault Clio. The Nissan Note, Micra and Qashqai are vehicles produced in the UK. Nissan also launched limited lease sales of the X-Trail FCV in Japan in 2003.
