Why should I get a broadband, landline and TV bundle?

Here are five good reasons why it could be worth bringing together some, or all, of your services:

  • You could save money by bundling instead of paying for each service separately.
  • With everything from one provider, it’s easier to manage your bills and monthly subscriptions.
  • Providers may offer incentives including discounts, vouchers and freebies to entice you to sign up.
  • You could save on premium pay-TV channels such as Sky Sports, Sky Atlantic and TNT Sports.
  • Many bundles now include access to streaming platforms including Netflix, Apple TV and Disney+.

How do I find the best broadband, TV and phone deals?

When buying all three services together, think about what your household needs from each one. For example, how fast does your broadband need to be? And do you need international calls included to phone a family member abroad?

Remember, the cheapest broadband, phone and TV deals aren’t necessarily the best for your needs.

We're here to help you compare a range of suitable packages available in your area. So why not compare today?

How do I choose the best broadband deal?

To find the best broadband deal for you, consider these features:

Speed

Make sure you choose a broadband deal with a speed that can handle your household’s online and TV watching habits.

If there are lots of you at home who stream and game online at the same time, a download speed of at least 60Mbps (megabits per second) can give you a smoother experience. If you live alone or aren’t a heavy internet user, you may find speeds of between 10Mbps and 30Mbps suit you better.

Price

While speed is important, you also need to consider your budget. Look for a deal you can comfortably afford but which also offers speeds fast enough to cope with your household’s needs.

Availability

Depending on where you live, your area may not have access to every type of broadband connection or provider. You can find out which broadband deals are available in your neighbourhood by using our postcode checker at the top of the page.

Customer service

At some point, your connection could go down or develop a fault. A good customer service team willing to help can make a huge difference when you need it most. Check recent customer ratings before you commit to a deal.

Contract length

While a price might look good now, it might not be so great in two years’ time. Think about how long you’re prepared to be tied into a contract.

Providers typically offer 12, 18 or 24-month contracts, but you might also be able to find rolling monthly deals if you prefer more flexibility.

Equipment

If you’re upgrading to a better type of broadband connection, you might need some new tech to be installed. Sometimes this is free but, at other times, it can also carry a charge so be sure to check.

Freebies and rewards

Broadband providers regularly offer freebies as incentives to attract new customers. This could be a voucher, bill credit, cashback or even a piece of clever tech. Just remember, gifts are always a welcome treat but your priority is the right deal for you and your home - make sure it has everything you need.

How do I choose the best phone deal?

A home phone deal is relatively simple compared to broadband and TV, so here’s what to look for:

Free call times

As part of your monthly plan, you’ll usually get certain times when you can make free calls. The standard inclusions are evenings and weekends, but some will include free calls anytime.

Free landline minutes (on top)

Perhaps instead of, or even on top of, your free call periods, you could have access to free landline minutes.

A common example would be when the first hour of a call is free, after which you’ll need to start paying.

International calls and calls to mobiles

You’ll normally be charged extra for calls to mobiles or international numbers. If you need to make these sorts of calls from a landline, check the rates before you sign up.

Price

Think about which features you need as part of your home phone deal. If you don’t make many calls, it may not be worth paying extra for free minutes.

How do I choose the best TV deal?

Comparing TV deals comes down to four key factors:

Live TV channels

Some TV deals come with more than 200 channels. Do you want them all, or just a few?

If you’re into sport, you could choose a package with Sky Sports and TNT Sports included. There are similar selections for films (e.g. Sky Cinema) and entertainment.

Streaming services

Various TV packages will include access to streaming platforms such as Netflix and Apple TV in the price. This could save you money as you won’t have to pay for them individually.

Features

Do you want to be able to watch TV on demand or on the go? Or would you like to access digital TV in different rooms all over the house? If these types of extra feature are important to you or those you live with, check to see if they’re available with TV deals.

What our expert says...

"Bundling your broadband, TV and phone makes sense for several reasons. You could potentially save money with a bundle discount, but it can also save you hassle and life admin, because you'll only have one provider to deal with. If this is important to you, a bundle is well worth considering.

Just don't get too comfortable with that one provider, as you can end up paying more for remaining loyal. Switching provider is one of the best ways to save money on your digital bundle... and that's where we come in."

Frequently asked questions

Can I add my mobile phone to a broadband, phone and TV bundle?

Yes, several providers now offer mobile add-ons for their broadband, TV and phone bundles. This gives you the option to bring your mobile spending in with the rest of your bills.

One thing to consider is whether your mobile service will be provided through your provider’s partnered network. So it might be worth checking network coverage in your area before you commit to making the switch.

If I agree to bundle, how long am I committed for?

Typical contract lengths range from 12 to 24 months.

Many broadband, phone and TV deals  come with 'introductory offers', which give you a reduced price for a certain length of time. If this is the case, make sure you know when that period ends and how much more you'll have to pay afterwards.

Unfortunately, loyalty doesn't always pay when it comes to broadband. Look at new offers elsewhere as you approach the end of your fixed deal, to make sure you're not paying over the odds.

If I'm not satisfied with my new package, can I switch?

Yes, all new contracts come with a ‘cooling off’ period, usually up to 14 days. During this time, you should be able to switch your broadband, phone and TV package without any penalties.

Check the terms of your contract to see if there are any costs incurred for ending your package early.

Is it easy to switch broadband, phone and TV providers?

If you’ve already come to the end of your contract’s term, switching from one broadband, phone and TV bundle to another should be simple. Your new provider should take care of the switch for you.

If you’re still in the middle of your contract, then you’ll almost certainly need to pay a cancellation fee. You’ll need to decide if leaving is worth the extra cost.

If you only want to change one or two of your services, that’s when it can get more complicated. You’ll need to separate your deals, which could be time-consuming.

Can I get a broadband and TV package without a phone?

You can get broadband and TV deals without including your phone. Unless you have a full fibre network in your area, you may still need a landline in your home for these services to work. But you shouldn’t have to pay for phone calls you don’t make.

This type of package is ideal if you don’t use your landline but you do enjoy watching live TV and streaming shows.

Can I bundle a streaming service with my broadband and phone?

Most of the big providers offer access to streaming services as part of their TV, broadband and phone deals. These bundles can include subscriptions to popular platforms such as Netflix, Apple TV and Disney+.
