Frequently asked questions

Do I need a landline with Vodafone?

As Vodafone uses BT-owned Openreach to deliver broadband services, you’ll likely need a landline with most packages. However, this might not be the case if you opt for full-fibre broadband.

Check your compatibility with the latest technology before committing to any Vodafone broadband deals.

Either way, all Vodafone broadband packages include a landline. If you frequently make or receive calls, it’s easy to add a home phone to your plan.

There’s no extra setup costs with Vodafone landline installations and, if you’re switching to Vodafone, you can keep your current number or choose a new one. Simples.

How reliable is Vodafone broadband?

Speed

Currently, Vodafone’s fastest broadband speed is 2.2Gbps, up to 60 times quicker than its standard broadband.

Reliability

According to Ofcom, 84% of customers were satisfied with Vodafone’s reception/signal strength.

Customer service

Ofcom reports that 86% of customers were satisfied with overall service from Vodafone.

Given that it uses BT’s Openreach network, which covers almost the entire UK, most people should receive a reliable connection with Vodafone broadband.

How do I cancel Vodafone broadband?

Cancelling before the end of your plan means potentially paying an early termination charge. The amount payable usually depends on how long remains on your contract. If you still want to cancel:

Phone

Call Vodafone customer service on 0333 304 0191 from any phone, or 191 from a Vodafone mobile.

If you're cancelling after a bereavement, contact Vodafone's dedicated bereavement team at
0808 005 7450.

Use TOBi

TOBi, Vodafone’s digital assistant, offers quick help with your broadband queries. If TOBi can’t help, it’ll immediately connect you with someone who can.

To check the status of your Vodafone broadband:

Remember to return any equipment that came with your Vodafone order, or you could be charged for it.

If your Vodafone broadband contract ends or you cancel your direct debit, this doesn’t automatically cancel your contract. Instead, you’ll move onto a rolling contract that continues to bill you at your usual monthly rate.
