How much does a Renault cost to insure?

The amount you’ll pay depends on your personal circumstances, as well as which insurance group your Renault falls into. There are 50 different insurance groups and, as a general rule, the lower the number of the insurance group, the cheaper the insurance. Different insurance providers may use modified versions of this grouping system, so you should always discuss your exact needs with your insurance provider.

There are 12 different models of Renault, and within each range there’ll be different versions, so you’ll need to check the spec of your car to find out which group your car belongs to.

Can I cut the cost of my Renault car insurance?

Yes, you may be able to. Start by thinking about where you park your car at night. A secure garage is better than the street in the eyes of some insurance providers. Also, does your car have an alarm? Certain providers may give you with a discount if you make sure that your car is fitted with additional security.

If you can afford it, it’s also worth your while to pay your premium in one go, as monthly instalments will almost always cost you more in the long run.

Done all of this and still not happy with the amount quoted? Unfortunately, there are many other facts that go into calculating your premium. The make and model of your car is obviously important. But many insurance providers will also look at things like your age, where you live, how long you’ve been driving and even your job. If you spend a lot of time on the road for your career, you’re likely to pay a higher premium as a result.
