How can I cut insurance costs for my Isuzu?
So you’ve fallen for an Isuzu; strong, safe, a real protector. But is an Isuzu affordable to insure?
There are a few things you can do to keep your Isuzu car insurance to a minimum, without compromising on your level of cover. Factors such as your age and where you live might affect your premium, but you can’t change those in a hurry. So check out our top tips for what you can do to keep the cost of your Isuzu insurance down:
1) Take the Pass Plus. If you’ve passed your test already, you might want to consider the Pass Plus scheme. It’s designed to hone your driving skills and is a great way to show you really know what you’re doing behind the wheel. It’ll take you at least six hours but it may well be worth your while. And why not have a sharpen-up?
2) Excess charge. A neat way to lower your premium is to pay a higher voluntary excess in the event of a claim. Be careful though you may also already have a compulsory excess. In the event of a claim you will be paying the total policy excess so don’t increase your voluntary excess out unless you can afford it.
3) Pay up front. Paying your premium in one go for the year is a good way to save on monthly interest charges. It might be more painful in the short term but it’s a straightforward way to save some cash.
4) Get secure. Reassure your insurer your Isuzu is safe by fitting extra security such as an alarm or immobiliser. However, you may need to speak directly with your insurer to see this reduction reflected in your premium. Parking your car in a safe spot such as a garage or driveway will also lower your risk of being targeted by thieves and lower your premium too. Result.
