What is the Ford Mondeo?
First launched in the UK in 1993, the Ford Mondeo is one of the most popular choices of company car, and can still hold its own against rivals like the Mazda 6 and VW Passat. Comfortable, stylish and great on motorways, Ford’s large executive car is also ideal for families who travel a lot.
Now in its fifth generation, the Mondeo is available in three body types: classic hatchback, estate and hybrid saloon.
New versions are sleek, refined and equipped with a good range of high-tech features and driving aids, such as parking assistance and a touchscreen infotainment system. Known for its safety features, Ford has also introduced inflatable rear seat belts (optional) which offer greater cushioned protection in the event of a collision.
There’s a choice of EcoBoost petrol or Econetic diesel engines. The 1.5 litre TDCi 120hp diesel hatchback offers the best fuel economy, returning an impressive 78.5mpg and a CO2 output of 94g/km. In comparison, the 2.0 litre EcoBoost petrol estate returns just 37.7mpg, with the highest CO2 output of 174g/km.
