What insurance group is Volkswagen Golf in?
The VW Golf insurance group ranges from 4 to 18, covering a number of different models such as the Cabriolet, Estate, GTI, Hatchback and R Cabriolet. Insurers often take these specifications into consideration, as well as the driver’s age, where they live and their history on the road. Typically, the Estate and the Hatchback VW Golfs are cheaper to insure, while the R Cabriolet and the GTi cost most since they offer the most power and speed.
Volkswagen Golf car insurance is cheapest for the older base models. The VW Golf E model is listed under group 4, as is the VW Golf S manual 3DR and 5DR. All Volkswagen Golf models in group 4 are manual vehicles; the cheapest auto Golf cars are the Golf S 8V, the Golf Match, the Golf Final Edition 8V and the Golf S (102), all of which are in group 5.
If you like the fast and the furious variety, then at the other end of the scale are the VW Golfs with more horsepower. The Volkswagen Golf insurance group 18 features the much nippier GTi’s and the R-types.
