AXA home insurance offers three insurance packages: HomeSmart, HomeSure and HomeSafe. The most economical package is HomeSmart, then you have HomeSure and the package with the highest level of benefits and additional coverage is HomeSafe. They offer buildings and contents insurance separately, or together. You can see what financial limits there are on your policy document.

Buildings insurance

Buildings home insurance from AXA has the following benefits on all three packages:

  • Rebuild and repair your home after an incident like a storm, a fire, a flood, explosion or other unexplained cause outlined in your policy document.
  • Replacement of locks and keys.
  • Damage caused by the emergency services gaining access to your home, including your garden.
  • Property owners’ liability – enables you to meet any costs or damages awarded to a member of the public if they suffer an injury following an accident connected to your property, which is arising from your ownership of the property but not its occupancy.
  • Moving home - if you have contracted to sell your home the purchaser shall have the full protection of your policy in respect of the buildings, up to the date of completion of the purchase, as long as your home is not covered by any other insurance.
  • Alternative accommodation – if your house has been damaged and it’s dangerous to stay in it, or if it’s being repaired, meaning you can’t live it – you’ll be covered to live in temporary accommodation

HomeSure has the following extra benefit:

• Accidental damage to buildings, which means if, for example, you ruin a wall whilst doing DIY, or break a window you’ll be covered.
