28 July 2020comparethemarket.com recently launched a new renewable filter for eco-conscious customers that allows them to filter energy deals to show only those which include renewable energy. The launch is being supported with an exclusive renewable energy tariff from Shell Energy.

With one click energy shoppers can now exclude any energy deal from their comparison search that does not include 100% renewable electricity. Consumer demand for greener energy is on the rise: comparethemarket.com’s latest energy snapshot reveals that in June more than 70% of all switches were to tariffs that offered customers 100% renewable electricity.

The launch of the renewable filter is being supported by an exclusive renewable energy tariff from Shell Energy. The exclusive offer, which is only available until 14th August, will provide customers who switch to Shell Energy’s Energy September 2021 v2 dual-fuel tariff with an average saving of £301 per year. It is only available via comparethemarket.com’s website. The exclusive tariff also comes with a £20 bill credit that will be applied automatically to the customer’s third bill.

The tariff will be fixed price for one year and comes with 100% renewable electricity as standard, utilising resources like wind, solar and biomass. The renewable electricity is certified by Renewable Energy Guarantees of Origin.

Peter Earl, head of energy at comparethemarket.com, said:

We have seen a surge in the number of customers switching to greener energy tariffs, a trend we foresee will continue in the months ahead. Energy suppliers are increasingly responding to the British public’s growing appetite to go green, and our renewable filter provides a simple way for people to filter out energy tariffs that do not come from renewable sources. We are pleased to be able to offer a competitively priced renewable tariff for environmentally conscious customers that is only available on our site. Going green doesn’t need to cost the earth.”
