Helen Thorn is a stand-up comedian and mum of two, who, along with her friend Ellie Gibson, launched The Scummy Mummies Podcast in July 2013. This fortnightly chat show for less-than-perfect parents was an instant hit, reaching number one on the iTunes Kids & Family chart.
Today the podcast has racked up hundreds of thousands of downloads and is listened to in more than 100 countries, and The Scummy Mummies thriving Instagram channel has almost a quarter of a million followers. Helen is also now a published author, having released her book Get Divorced, Be Happy, sharing her own rollercoaster journey from the initial shock of a surprise separation, through to her discovery of the ‘glorious joy’ of just being by herself.
