Stacey Heale

​She left her previous career as a fashion academic to care for her husband musician and artist Greg Gilbert when he was diagnosed with incurable bowel cancer. ​

Greg died in late 2021 after five years of living with the disease, during which Stacey found very few honest accounts of the carer’s experience and used her platform to discuss taboo subjects such as death, money, sex drive, anticipatory grief, the politics of cancer, widowhood and how children grieve.
