The Suzuki GSX-R Range

The GSX-R750

The bike that started it all back in 1985 was the GSX-R750. In those days, it was a revolutionary new bike. This was after all, the first race bike designed for the road. Suzuki had developed it to tackle the Superbike racing series of its day – and then added mirrors and lights to comply with road laws!

The result was a 100hp superbike, which at just 394 pounds was almost 80 pounds lighter than other 750cc competitors. Success came quickly as it took first and second at the Le Mans 24 hour race as well as the Isle of Man TT in the year of its launch.

These days, a new GSX-R750 will set you back around £10,000. With looks that have kept up with the times, it has a state of the art 750cc engine, yet has the compactness and nimbleness of a 600cc Supersport.

The GSX-R1100

For a slightly less nerve shredding ride, the GSX-R1100 followed it’s sibling onto the roads a year later in 1986 – a bike designed with the sports-touring market in mind.

This wasn’t a bike for the feint hearted of course, the 1100 was developed with racing technology and actually become a popular platform for many motorcycle drag racing bikes!.

The GSX-R1000

For many the new GSX-R1000, which will be available from the Spring this year, has taken the old 1100 and made it even better. Suzuki boast that the bike is the ‘most advanced, most exciting GSX-R in history’, Like you, we can’t wait to see more

The GSX-R600

For around £9,000 new, you could opt for the GSX-R600 model. Officially launched back in 1997, the new 600 has a very lightweight chassis and is compact in size. That doesn’t mean it’s light on features and performance though - the bike boasts race quality suspension and race proven technology throughout.

The GSX-R125

Finally, the summer of 2017 will see the launch of a new, smaller model. The GSX-R125 will join it’s legendary big brothers on our roads. Suzuki aims to have a bike that will be best in class when it comes to power to weight, and torque to weight ratios, not to mention acceleration. This bike could well appeal to new bikers looking for a first taste of the GSX-R range.
