Rewards terms and conditions


These terms and conditions govern the comparethemarket.com Rewards. If you need help in understanding any part of these terms and conditions please contact us.

What are Rewards

We like to reward our customers for using comparethemarket.com so when you take out a Qualifying Product through comparethemarket.com you shall be entitled to claim;

1. a Meerkat Meals Membership, which shall entitle you to:

  • 2 for 1 on starters, mains and desserts 
  • 25% off your bill
  • 50% off Pizzas
  • A minimum of 10% off when your order

2. a Meerkat Movies Membership, which shall entitle you to 2 for 1 cinema tickets;

Both Meerkat Meals and Meerkat Movies Memberships are a “Reward” and together “Rewards”

Please see the relevant section below for more information in relation to Meerkat Meals and Meerkat Movies Memberships and the limitations, exclusions and restrictions which apply to them.

Rewards are valid for 12 months from the date you take out your Qualifying Product from the comparethemarket.com website. If you take out a further Qualifying Product your Rewards will be topped up for a whole year from the date you purchase or apply for the additional Qualifying Product.

Your Rewards cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer unless advised by the participating outlets. There are no cash alternatives and our Rewards have no cash value.  We cannot provide you with a cash equivalent refund or substitute this with any other offer from time to time.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: People who purchase, renew or apply directly with the product provider will NOT have made a Qualifying Purchase through comparethemarket.com so will NOT be eligible for Rewards. If you cancel, reverse or fail to complete your purchase or application or switch of a Qualifying Product within 30 days you will also NOT be eligible to claim Rewards and your Rewards could be revoked, please see Clause 3 for more detail.

Claiming Your Rewards

To claim your Rewards you must first have a comparethemarket.com account that is created using the same email address you used when take out a Qualifying Product. Instructions on how to create an account are below. Once you have created an account or if you have an existing account, you can follow these instructions to claim your Rewards. If you do not use the same email address, we will not be able to match your Qualifying Purchase to your account.

To create Your Account

Via the comparethemarket.com website:

Simply go to www.comparethemarket.com and follow the link to “Sign In” (top right of screen). Click ‘Register now’ on the right-hand side of the screen, then enter your email address (ensuring this is the same one you used when taking out a Qualifying Product) and follow the instructions contained in the email response.

Via the Meerkat App:

Open the Meerkat App and tap on the “Create Account” button. Then enter your email address (ensuring this is the same one you used when taking out a Qualifying Product) and follow the instructions in the email response.

Once you have claimed your Rewards, you must download the Meerkat App to access your Meerkat Meals Membership. You can access your Meerkat Movies Membership via the Meerkat App or via the website. Information on how to download our Meerkat App are below.

Download the Meerkat App

Simply go to your iOS or Android mobile device or tablet Application Store and download the Meerkat App. Once the Meerkat App is downloaded to your device, log into Your Account by entering your email address and password that you used to create your account.

Data charges may apply to your use of the Meerkat App. Please contact your mobile phone service provider for more information. comparethemarket.com will not accept any responsibility for any cost incurred in using the Meerkat App.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE Meerkat App IS ONLY AVAILABLE ON iOS AND ANDROID DEVICES. For more information on your use of the App please see below [Clause 7].

Pre-approval

When possible we will pre-approve you for Rewards provided that; you have registered using the same email address you used when you took out a Qualifying Product; you have set up an account and in the case of Meerkat Meals in order to access your Meerkat Meals Membership, downloaded the Meerkat App. Where we are able to pre-approve your Rewards your account will automatically be updated to reflect your Rewards status and may send an email notifying you of this. Please allow 48 hours for pre-approval. This does not affect your ability to claim your Reward using the process set out above.

1. Meerkat Meals

The individual participating outlets terms and conditions apply. Participating outlets prices may be subject to change at any time, without notice. The participating outlet’s opening hours will apply.

From time to time we have additional exclusive offers to complement Meerkat Meals. If there is an additional offer, we will update this section of the Terms and Conditions. Delivery and collection outlets may also have additional offers and these will be detailed within the outlet information within the app. These are not a part of Meerkat Meals and are subject to the outlet’s own conditions.

Taste Marketing Limited (The Dining Club Group part of State Bidco Limited Group) are not responsible for any part or administration of these Terms and Conditions.

To use your Meerkat Meals Membership when Dining out, you must mention you have Meerkat Meals when you book.

Dining out 2 for 1

Terms
When purchasing two of any course, you will receive the cheapest item from each course (Starters, Mains or Desserts only) from the participating restaurants’ “a la carte menu” from Sunday-Thursday.

You will only be entitled to 2 for 1 on matching courses.

It is at the discretion of each participating restaurant as to what is included as a Starter, Main or Dessert.

Exclusions, Limitations & Additional Offers
Your Meerkat Meals Membership entitles you to the 2 for 1 discount for minimum of 2 people up to a maximum of 6 people (in certain participating restaurants the 2 for 1 discount will apply to groups of 10 such participating restaurants offering groups of 10 will be shown in the Meerkat App).

The Meerkat App will indicate where a participating restaurant requires advance booking to redeem the Reward.

This offer is not available on Valentine's Day, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Easter Sunday, Easter Monday, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.

Please note certain restaurants may have additional excluded days including but not limited to Early May Bank Holiday, Late May Bank Holiday, August Bank Holiday and days during December and you should check the Meerkat App for details before booking.

This offer does not apply to kids’ meals, sharing platters, drinks, special dishes, side dishes and nibbles and discounted menus.

Dining out 25% off your bill

Terms
You will receive 25% off your total bill at participating restaurants on varying days of the week.

Please check on the individual restaurants page for more information on which days the restaurant is participating in the offer.

Exclusions, Limitations & Additional Offers
If you are dining in Scotland, alcoholic drinks are excluded from the 25% offer due to local laws.

This offer is not available on Valentine's Day, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Easter Sunday, Easter Monday, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.

Please note certain restaurants may limit the number of times you can use your Meerkat Meals Membership in a day. You may also be required to order a main meal to be eligible for the offer. Please check the individual participating restaurants page in the App before dining for any exclusions.

Please note certain restaurants may have additional excluded days including but not limited to Early May Bank Holiday, Late May Bank Holiday, August Bank Holiday and days during December and you should check the Meerkat App for details before booking.

Your Meerkat Meals Membership entitles you to the 25% off discount for minimum of 2 people up to a maximum of 10 people dependent on the restaurant. Please check the individual participating restaurants page in the App before dining.

Offer available on the a la carte and breakfast menus only. Festive Dishes, Set/Fixed price, special Lunch Menus, Kids Menus, takeaways and delivery are excluded.

Pizza Delivery and Collection

Terms
You will receive 50% off Pizzas from the participating outlets main menu.

This offer only applies to participating Pizza Hut and Papa Johns’ outlets.

Exclusions, Limitations & Additional Offers
All Desserts, Drinks and Sides are excluded from this offer. The offer only entitles you to 50% off the part of your bill that is made up of Pizzas produced by the participating outlet.
Northern Ireland is excluded from the offer.

Your basket prior to the deal being applied must exceed £30.00 in value made up of Pizzas to be entitled to receive 50% of your bill.

The Meerkat App will indicate where your nearest participating outlet is located. You must order via the Meerkat App in order to receive the 50% discount. Each location will apply its own delivery radius, please check before you order.

Delivery and Collection

Terms
You will receive a minimum of 10% off your order from participating restaurants for collection or delivery.

Exclusions, Limitations & Additional Offers
A minimum of 10% off your total bill.

The delivery radius and charge are subject to change and is set by each restaurant, and/or delivery service provider, please check with the participating restaurant before you order.

Collection orders are not affected by the delivery radius.

From time to time restaurants may offer a heightened discount or offers, please check with the individual restaurant page for more information.

Ordering must be done though the App using one of the listed digital payment methods.

 

If you have an issue with your order or whilst you’re dining out, whether it be food or delivery related, please contact the restaurant directly. Contact information can be found on your order confirmation email if for a delivery or collection or on the individual restaurants page in the app.

2. Meerkat Movies

Your Meerkat Movies code  

To access your Meerkat Movies code, you must log in to Your Account via the Meerkat App or comparethemarket.com website.

You may claim only one Meerkat Movies code per week and each meerkat movies code can only be used once. Your Meerkat Movies code is only valid for one screening on either Tuesday or Wednesday.

Your Meerkat Movies code shall automatically expire on completion of your transaction or, if not used, at 00:00:59 (59 seconds) on the Thursday after it is issued. Meerkat Movies codes CANNOT be used once they have expired.

How to use your Meerkat Movies code

Once you have received your weekly Meerkat Movies code, you can present it to the cashier at the point of purchase and once validated, you will receive the cheapest cinema ticket at no cost when you purchase more than one cinema ticket for the same screening.

You can also use your weekly Meerkat Movies code when booking online at selected cinema outlets. Please check with the participating cinema before you book.

Admission is not guaranteed, and seat availability is on a first come first serve basis. Admissions are subject to normal BBFC film classifications.  

Your Meerkat Movies code applies to all standard cinema screenings publicly available at participating cinemas. The free cinema ticket will be issued for the same film and screening as the paid cinema ticket. In the case of Northern Ireland, your Meerkat Movies code will only apply to a standard full priced ticket and not the discounted price available on Tuesdays.  

The individual participating cinema’s terms and conditions of sale, purchase and admission/entry apply. Ticket prices may be subject to change at any time, without notice. 

You will not be able to use your Meerkat Movies code for pre-ordered cinema tickets, unless the individual participating cinema advises differently. Please see participating cinemas website for more information.

Meerkat Movies codes CANNOT be used for premieres, previews (and other pre-release screenings that are not directly on sale to the general public), school bookings, corporate or private hires, third party bulk ticket purchases, private screenings, event cinema, live broadcasts and as live broadcasts. Your Meerkat Movies code cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer, such as discounted tickets, unless advised otherwise. There are no cash alternatives and the Meerkat Movies codes have no cash value. We cannot provide you with a cash equivalent refund.

PLEASE NOTE: Participating cinemas may charge an additional fee for premium screenings, premium seating and/or for 3D glasses. This additional fee may be payable on both the paid and the ‘free’ ticket. Examples of premium screening and seats include, but are not limited to: IMAX, 3D, D-BOX, 4DX, Impact, Superscreen, Extreme Screen, XPlus, Luxe, VIP seats, premium seats and gold class. Please contact your local participating cinema for details.

3. Revocation of Meerkat Meals Membership and/or Meerkat Movies Membership

If comparethemarket.com is unable to verify your Qualifying Product we reserve the right to revoke either or both of your Meerkat Meals Membership and / or your Meerkat Movies Membership as applicable.

You will be informed of this in advance and given 30 days to supply additional verification information. If you do not provide us with the information requested and we are unable to verify your Qualifying Product, we will revoke either or both of your Meerkat Meals Membership and / or your Meerkat Movies Membership.

Meerkat Meals Membership numbers are non-transferable, are for your personal use only and may not be sold, lent or gifted to any third party; 

Meerkat Movies codes are non-transferable, are for your personal use only and may not be sold, lent or gifted to any third party; 

Furthermore, comparethemarket.com reserve the right to revoke either or both of your Meerkat Meals Membership and / or your Meerkat Movies Membership (as applicable) if you:

  • Breach or attempt to breach any of these terms and conditions (including not making a Qualifying Product);
  • Sell or distribute your Meerkat Movies code to third parties (including but not limited to sale via auction sites); 
  • Sell or distribute your Meerkat Meals Membership to third parties (including but not limited to sale via auction sites); 
  • Abuse or attempt to abuse the Meerkat Movies Membership (such as abusing code redemption); 
  • Abuse or attempt to abuse the Meerkat Meals Membership number (such as abusing code redemption); or Undertake activity which, in our sole opinion, constitutes misuse or abuse of the comparethemarket.com website, Meerkat App or Your Account;

4. Meerkat Toys

Limited Editions Sleepy Oleg Toy duration

If you made a Qualifying Purchase or application, prior to 23:59 on 14 December 2020 you would have been entitled to claim a Limited Editions Sleepy Oleg Toy within 10 days from the date of your Qualifying Purchase, up until 24th December 2020.

PLEASE NOTE: All Qualifying Purchases, before or after the qualifying period are not eligible.

5. General

comparethemarket.com accepts no responsibility for any damage, loss, liabilities or disappointment incurred or suffered by you or anybody else in connection with the Rewards. These terms and conditions shall only apply between you and us. Unless otherwise stated, no other person may benefit from or rely upon these terms and conditions.

comparethemarket.com shall not be liable for any failure to comply with our obligations where the failure is caused by something beyond our reasonable control.

All Rewards are subject to availability and comparethemarket.com reserve the right to substitute or remove any Rewards at any time. comparethemarket.com shall provide you with as much notice as reasonably possible. Any amendment shall be published on comparethemarket.com. In the event an advertised promotion subsequently becomes unavailable, we will provide an alternative at our discretion. There are no cash alternatives.

We reserve the right to change, add or remove any product currently defined as a Qualifying Product. Any amendments to the current definition of Qualifying Product will be published on comparethemarket.com.

comparethemarket.com reserve the right to amend these terms and conditions at any point without notice. Any amendments will be published on comparethemarket.com.

comparethemarket.com rely on the accuracy of the information provided by the third-party providers of your Qualifying Product via comparethemarket.com to verify your entitlement to Rewards. We accept no responsibility for any delay, failure, or error by a third-party provider in notifying us that a Qualifying Product has taken place.

Third-party providers will be unable to assist you with any enquiries on the Rewards; therefore, in the event you have any queries or disputes please contact us directly on here.

Nothing in these terms and conditions shall affect your statutory rights.

6. Data & Privacy

A full description of how your data will be used is set out in our Privacy Policy. By submitting personal information to comparethemarket.com, you consent to the processing of your personal information by us and our agents in accordance with the Privacy Policy found on our website and in our Meerkat app.

7. App Terms of Use

IMPORTANT NOTICE: 

By downloading or using the Meerkat App you agree to these terms. You should therefore read these terms carefully beforehand. Within these terms you will be able to find links to our Privacy Policy and our meerkat rewards terms and conditions.

If you do not agree to the terms you must stop using the App and delete it from your device.

1. Acknowledgements

1.1 These terms apply to your use of the Meerkat App ("App").

1.2 We may amend or modify these terms at any time and any changes will be published on comparethemarket.com. In some cases the new terms may be displayed on-screen of your device and you may be required to read and accept them to continue your use of the App.

1.3 From time to time we will update the minimum operating system our App supports when we release a new app version. This is to ensure we support the latest features as they are released by Apple and Google. You may not be able to use the App until you have downloaded the latest version of the App and accepted any new terms.

1.4 If the device is not yours, you confirm you have permission of the owner to download the App. Data and call charges may be applied by the mobile service provider when using the App. You accept responsibility for any such charges (whether the device is yours or not).

1.5 The terms of our privacy policy from time to time, available on comparethemarket.com (Privacy Policy) are incorporated into these terms of use and also apply to your use of the App.

1.6 We may communicate with you electronically via the App using push notifications. All in App messaging is subject to the Privacy Policy as above. In respect of push notifications these can be switched off by accessing your settings.

1.7 By using the App, you consent to us collecting and using technical information about the device and related software, hardware and peripherals for the services provided through the App that are internet-based or wireless to improve our products and to provide these services to you.

1.8 Certain services of the App will make use of location data sent from the device. You can turn off this functionality at any time by turning off the location services settings for the App on the device. Please refer to the Privacy Policy above for more information how this data is used.

1.9 The App may contain links to other independent third-party websites (Third-party Sites). Third-party Sites are not under our control, and we are not responsible for and do not endorse their content or their privacy policies (if any). You will need to make your own independent judgement regarding your interaction with any Third-party Sites, including the purchase and use of any products or services accessible through them.

2. Intellectual property rights

2.1 You acknowledge that all intellectual property rights in the App belong to us or our licensors, that the App is licensed (not sold) to you, and that you have no rights in, or to, the App, or the Technology other than the right to use each of them in accordance with the terms of use.

2.2 You acknowledge that you have no right to have access to the App in source-code form and you will comply with restrictions detailed below.

3. Grant and scope of licence

3.1 In consideration of you agreeing to abide by these terms of use, we grant you a non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use the App for your own personal use on the device, subject to these terms. We reserve all rights, such as to make changes to the App, it services or withdraw the App for any reason.

4. Licence restrictions

Except as expressly set out in these terms of use or as permitted by any local law, you agree:

(a) not to copy the App except where such copying is incidental to normal use of the App, or where it is necessary for the purpose of back-up or operational security;

(b) not to rent, lease, sub-license, loan, translate, merge, adapt, vary or modify the App;

(c) not to make alterations to, or modifications of, the whole or any part of the App, or permit App or any part of it to be combined with, or become incorporated in, any other programs;

(d) not to or attempt to disassemble, decompile, reverse-engineer or create derivative works based on the whole or any part of the App.

(e) not to provide or otherwise make available the App in whole or in part (including object and source code), in any form to any person without prior written consent from us.

5. Acceptable use restrictions

You must:

(a) not use the App in any unlawful manner, for any unlawful purpose, or in any manner inconsistent with this terms of use, or act fraudulently or maliciously, for example, by hacking into or inserting malicious code, including viruses, or harmful data, into the App;

(b) not infringe our intellectual property rights or those of any third party in relation to your use of the App;

(c) not transmit any material that is defamatory, offensive or otherwise objectionable in relation to your use of the;

(d) not use the App in a way that could damage, disable, overburden, impair or compromise our systems or security or interfere with other users; and

(e) not collect or harvest any information or data from our systems or attempt to decipher any transmissions to or from the servers.

6. Liability

6.1 You acknowledge that the App has not been developed to meet your individual requirements, and that it is therefore your responsibility to ensure that the facilities and functions of the App meet your requirements.

6.2 You agree not to use the App for any commercial, business or resale purposes which are not expressly agreed by us, and to the fullest extent permitted by law, we hereby exclude all liability arising out of or in connection with your use and/or misuse of this App, whether in contract, tort (including negligence) or otherwise, howsoever arising, including without limitation:

(a) all direct losses;

(b) all indirect, consequential and special losses;

(c) loss of profit, loss of data, loss of goodwill.

6.3 Our maximum aggregate liability under or in connection with this terms of use whether in contract, tort (including negligence) or otherwise, shall in all circumstances be limited to £50. This does not apply to the types of loss set out in condition.

6.4 Nothing in this terms of use shall limit or exclude our liability for:

(a) death or personal injury resulting from our negligence;

(b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; and

(c) any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by English law.
