These terms and conditions govern the comparethemarket.com Rewards. If you need help in understanding any part of these terms and conditions please contact us.
What are Rewards?
We like to reward our customers for buying through Comparethemarket.com so when you purchase a Qualifying Product (defined below) (“Qualifying Purchase”) through Comparethemarket.com you shall be entitled to claim;
1. a Meerkat Movies Membership, which shall entitle you to 2 for 1 cinema tickets on Tuesdays or Wednesdays each week, all year at participating cinemas; and
2. a Meerkat Meals Membership, which shall entitle you to 2 for 1 on all courses (Starters, Mains and Desserts) for Breakfast (where available), Lunch and Dinner, Sunday through to Thursday all year (*see exclusions below) at participating restaurants. And 50% off Pizzas, 7 days a week. £30 min spend. Order via the App with your membership. Exc. N.I.
Each a “Reward” and together “Rewards”
If you make a further Qualifying Purchase your Meerkat Movies Membership and Meerkat Meals Membership will be extended for a whole year from the date of your latest Qualifying Purchase.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION: People who purchase or renew directly with the product provider will NOT have made a Qualifying Purchase through Comparethemarket.com so will NOT be eligible for a Reward. If you cancel, reverse or fail to complete purchase of a Qualifying Product within 30 days you will also NOT be eligible to claim a Reward.
To claim your Rewards you must first have a Comparethemarket.com account (“Your Account”) registered using the same email address you used when you made your Qualifying Purchase.
To create Your Account
Simply go to www.Comparethemarket.com follow the link to “Your Account” (top right of screen) and click Register now by entering your email address and following the instructions contained in the email response.
To log in to Your Account
Simply go to www.Comparethemarket.com follow the links to “Your Account” (top right of screen) and enter your email address and password.
Download the Meerkat APP
Simply go to your iOS or Android mobile device or tablet APP Store and download the Meerkat APP.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE Meerkat APP IS ONLY AVAILABLE ON iOS AND ANDRIOD DEVICES.
Once the Meerkat APP is downloaded to your device, log into Your Account by entering your email address and password that you used to make your Qualifying Purchase through Comparethemarket.com.
PLEASE NOTE YOUR MEERKAT MEALS MEMBERSHIP NUMBER IS ONLY AVAILABLE THROUGH THE Meerkat APP.
Customers who purchase any of the following Qualifying Products through Comparethemarket.com
- Purchase: Car insurance, Motorcycle insurance, Van insurance, Contents and/or Buildings insurance, Pet insurance, Life insurance, Business insurance, Landlord insurance or Travel insurance;
- Switch: Domestic energy (gas and/or electric), Broadband, Home telephone or Digital TV;
- Obtain: a Credit card or Loan, Mobile phone contract or SIM only contract;
will be eligible to activate both a Meerkat Movies Membership and Meerkat Meals Membership through Your Account (see above)
Customers who purchase any of the following Non-Qualifying Products through Comparethemarket.com will NOT be eligible for any Rewards.
The following are NON-QUALIFYING PRODUCTS;
Business Life, Business Broadband, Breakdown cover, Taxi, Caravan and Motorhome Insurance, Business energy, Mortgages, Savings accounts, Current accounts, Health insurance and Income protection insurance.
One Qualifying Purchase
Joint policies, combined purchases or switching (for example: joint life insurance, credit cards, buildings and contents or dual gas and electric tariffs) shall count as one Qualifying Product.
When possible we will pre approve you for Rewards provided that; you have registered using the same email address you used when you made your Qualifying Purchase; you have set up Your Account and in the case of Meerkat Meals in order to access your Meerkat Meals Reward downloaded the Meerkat APP. Where we are able to pre-approve your Rewards your account will automatically be updated to reflect your Rewards status and may send an email notifying you of this. Please allow 48 hours for pre-approval. This does not affect your ability to claim your Reward using the process set out below.
1. Meerkat Movies Membership
When you purchase a Qualifying Product you can claim a Meerkat Movies membership entitling you to 2 for 1 cinema tickets on Tuesdays or Wednesdays, all year at participating cinemas (see below Meerkat Movies duration). You can activate your Meerkat Movies membership by logging into Your Account. It could take up to 48 hours for us to validate your details before your Meerkat Movies membership can be activated.
Meerkat Movies membership duration
Your Meerkat Movies membership is valid for 12 months from the date you click-through from the Comparethemarket.com website to the product provider and make your Qualifying Purchase.
PLEASE NOTE: this is not from the date your Meerkat Movies membership is activated by claiming your Reward through Your Account.
Only one Meerkat Movies membership can be activated against Your Account at any one time.
In order to renew your Meerkat Movies membership, you must make a new Qualifying Purchase through Comparethemarket.com.
How to get your Meerkat Movies membership Code
To acquire your Meerkat Movies code you must download the Meerkat APP to your iOS or Android mobile device or tablet, or visit Your Account.
YOU MAY CLAIM ONLY ONE Meerkat Movies CODE PER WEEK AND EACH Meerkat Movies CODE CAN ONLY BE USED ONCE. YOUR Meerkat Movies CODE IS ONLY VALID FOR ONE SCREENING ON EITHER TUESDAY OR WEDNESDAY.
Your Meerkat Movies code shall automatically expire on completion of your transaction or, if not used, at 00:00:59 (59 seconds) on the Thursday after it is issued. Meerkat Movies codes CANNOT be used once they have expired.
Data charges may apply to your use of the Meerkat APP. Please contact your mobile phone service provider for more information. Comparethemarket.com will not accept any responsibility for any cost incurred in using the Meerkat APP.
How to use your Meerkat Movies membership code
Once you have claimed your Meerkat Movies code, present it to the cashier at the point of purchase and once validated, you will receive the cheapest cinema ticket at no cost when you purchase more than one cinema ticket for the same screening.
ADMISSION IS NOT GUARANTEED AND SEAT AVAILABILITY IS ON A FIRST COME FIRST SERVE BASIS. ADMISSIONS ARE SUBJECT TO NORMAL BBFC FILM CLASSIFICATIONS.
Your Meerkat Movies code applies to all standard cinema screenings publically available at participating cinemas. The free cinema ticket will be issued for the SAME FILM AND SCREENING AS THE PAID cinema ticket. In the case of Northern Ireland, your Meerkat Movies code will only apply to a standard full priced ticket and not the discounted price available on Tuesdays.
The individual participating cinema’s terms and conditions of sale, purchase and admission/entry apply. Ticket prices may be subject to change at any time, without notice.
You will not be able to use your Meerkat Movies code for pre-ordered cinema tickets, unless the individual participating cinema advises differently. Please see participating cinemas website for more information.
Meerkat Movies codes CANNOT be used for premieres, previews (and other pre-release screenings that are not directly on sale to the general public), school bookings, corporate or private hires, third party bulk ticket purchases, private screenings, event cinema, live broadcasts and as live broadcasts. Your Meerkat Movies code cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer, such as discounted tickets, unless advised otherwise. There are no cash alternatives and the Meerkat Movies codes have no cash value. We cannot provide you with a cash equivalent refund.
PLEASE NOTE: Participating cinemas may charge an additional fee for premium screenings, premium seating and/or for 3D glasses. This additional fee may be payable on both the paid and the ‘free’ ticket. Examples of premium screening and seats include, but are not limited to: IMAX, 3D, D-BOX, 4DX, Impact, Superscreen, Extreme Screen, XPlus, Luxe, VIP seats, premium seats and gold class. Please contact your local participating cinema for details.
2. Meerkat Meals Membership
Due to current circumstances and the Government's advice regarding social distancing and the closures to restaurants and pubs, some of our participating restaurants are offering a collection service. The terms and conditions of the offer do not change other than the requirement to eat in the restaurant is not being enforced. Please only travel to these restaurants to participate in the offer where necessary and you feel it safe to do so. Please check individual restaurants near you in our app to find out which restaurants are offering this service.
When you purchase a Qualifying Product you can claim a Meerkat Meals Membership entitling you to 2 for 1 on all courses (Starters, Mains and Desserts) for Breakfast (where available), Lunch and Dinner Sunday through to Thursday all year* from the “a la carte menu” (*exclusions apply) at participating restaurants (see below Meerkat Meals duration) and 50% off pizzas from Pizza Hut Delivery on collection and delivery every day of the week from participating outlets (**conditions and exclusions apply). The 2 for 1 offer can only be used when dining in the participating restaurants. In order to use your Meerkat Meals Membership, you must download the Meerkat APP to your iOS or Android mobile device or tablet. Once you have downloaded the Meerkat APP to your device, log in using Your Account details (see above). It could take up to 48 hours for us to validate your details before your Meerkat Meals Membership can be activated. Participating restaurants can be found in the Meerkat APP.

How to use your Meerkat Meals Membership
Booking at a Participating Restaurant
The Meerkat APP will indicate where a participating restaurant requires advance booking to redeem the Reward. Meerkat Meals Membership can only be used when dining in at the participating restaurants. You must book in advance and notify the participating restaurant that you are a Meerkat Meals Member. IF YOU DO NOT MAKE A BOOKING IN ADVANCE WHERE REQUIRED THE PARTICIPATING RESTAURANT WILL NOT LET YOU CLAIM YOUR 2 FOR 1 Meerkat Meals DISCOUNT.
Using the Meerkat APP you must present your Meerkat Meals Membership number at the point of receipt of your bill in the participating restaurant.
You will receive the cheapest item from each course Starters, Mains or Desserts from the participating restaurants “a la carte menu” (*exclusions apply) at no cost when you purchase more than one Starter, Main or Dessert. YOU WILL ONLY BE ENTITLED TO 2 FOR 1 ON MATCHING COURSES. It is at the discretion of each participating restaurant as to what is included as a Starter, Main or Dessert.
EXAMPLE; where two people order one Starter, two Mains and a Dessert, the cheapest Main course will be free. Where two people order a Starter, Main and Dessert each, the cheapest Starter, Main and Dessert will be free.
Your Meerkat Meals Membership entitles you to the 2 for 1 discount for minimum of 2 people up to a maximum of 6 people (in certain participating restaurants the 2 for 1 discount will apply to groups of 10 such participating restaurants offering groups of 10 will be shown in the Meerkat APP).
YOU ARE ENTITLED TO USE YOUR MEERKAT MEALS MEMBERSHIP ALL WEEK HOWEVER CONDITIONS AND EXCLUSIONS APPLY.
USE YOUR MEMBERSHIP IN RESTAURANTS ON SUNDAYS THROUGH TO THURSDAYS ALL YEAR AND FOR PIZZA DELIVERY EVERY DAY OF THE WEEK.
*EXCLUDING VALENTINE'S DAY, MOTHER'S DAY, FATHER'S DAY, EASTER SUNDAY, EASTER MONDAY, CHRISTMAS EVE, CHRISTMAS DAY, BOXING DAY, NEW YEAR’S EVE AND NEW YEAR’S DAY.

Your Meerkat Meals Membership number cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer unless advised by the participating restaurant. There are no cash alternatives and the Meerkat Meals Membership number has no cash value. We cannot provide you with a cash equivalent refund. Meerkat Meals Membership can only be used when dining in at the participating restaurants.
Collection and delivery at Pizza Hut Delivery.
The Meerkat APP will indicate where your nearest participating outlet is located. You must order via the Meerkat APP in order to receive the 50% discount.
You will receive 50% off Pizzas from the participating outlets main menu (**conditions and exclusions apply).
Worked Example (Peterborough, Pizza Hut Delivery as of 15th April 2020):
- Large Stuffed Crust Pepperoni Feast (original price £21.58) – following 50% discount = £10.79
- Small Margherita Pizza (original price £10.99) – following 50% discount = £5.49
- Total bill before discount: £32.57 – New Total Bill after discount = £16.28
**CONDITIONS and EXCLUSIONS from Meerkat Meals
All Desserts, Drinks and Sides are excluded from this offer. The offer only entitles you to 50% off the part of your bill that is made up of Pizzas produced by the participating outlet.
The Meerkat Meals Membership is not available in conjunction with any other offer. N.I. is excluded from the offer.
The Meerkat Meals Membership number must be redeemed through the Meerkat APP.
Your basket prior to the deal being applied must exceed £30.00 to be entitled to received 50% of your bill.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
WHERE YOU PURCHASE MEALS FROM ANY PARTICIPATING RESTAURANT, ANY LOSSES OR LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF, OR IN CONNECTION WITH, SUCH FOOD SHALL BE THE SOLE LIABILITY OF THE RELEVANT PARTICIPATING RESTAURANT.
COMPARETHEMARKET.COM ACCEPTS NO LIABILITY FOR ANY UNSATISFACTORY FOOD OR SERVICE AT ANY OF THE PARTICIPATING RESTAURANTS.

3. Revocation of Meerkat Movies Membership and / or Meerkat Meals Membership
If Comparethemarket.com are unable to verify your Qualifying Purchase we reserve the right to revoke either or both of your Meerkat Movies Membership and / or your Meerkat Meals Membership as applicable.
You will be informed of this in advance and given 30 days to supply additional verification information. If you do not provide us with the information requested and we are unable to verify your Qualifying Purchase, we will revoke either or both of your Meerkat Movies Membership and / or your Meerkat Meals Membership.
Furthermore, Comparethemarket.com reserve the right to revoke either or both of your Meerkat Movies Membership and / or your Meerkat Meals Membership (as applicable) if you:
- Breach or attempt to breach any of these terms and conditions (including not making a Qualifying Purchase);
- Sell or distribute your Meerkat Movies code to third parties (including but not limited to sale via auction sites);
- Sell or distribute your Meerkat Meals Membership to third parties (including but not limited to sale via auction sites);
- Meerkat Movies codes are non-transferable, are for your personal use only and may not be sold, lent or gifted to any third party;
- Meerkat Meals Membership numbers are non-transferable, are for your personal use only and may not be sold, lent or gifted to any third party;
- Abuse or attempt to abuse the Meerkat Movies
- Membership (such as abusing code redemption);
- Abuse or attempt to abuse the Meerkat Meals
- Membership number (such as abusing code redemption); or
- Undertake activity which, in our sole opinion, constitutes misuse or abuse of the Comparethemarket.com website, Meerkat APP or Your Account;
4. Meerkat Toys
IF YOU PURCHASED A QUALIFYING PRODUCT PRIOR TO 23:59 ON 11 MAY 2018 YOU WOULD HAVE BEEN ELIGIBLE TO CLAIM A MEERKAT TOY UP UNTIL 10 JULY 2018. PLEASE NOTE: ALL QUALIFYING PURCHASES FROM 00:00 ON 12 MAY 2018 WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE TO CLAIM A MEERKAT TOY.
Eligibility for Meerkat Toys
Toys are not reserved at the time a Qualifying Purchase is made by you. All Meerkat Toys are distributed on receipt of a valid claim and Meerkat Toys are allocated to customers on a first come first serve basis.
If you were eligible to claim a Meerkat Toy, you must make your claim within 60 days of your Qualifying Purchase date, otherwise you will only be able to claim Meerkat Movies Membership.
If you were eligible to claim a Meerkat Toy, you can select a Meerkat Toy Reward in Your Account, in the Rewards hub. Once your Meerkat Toy has been despatched it cannot be changed.
Comparethemarket.com reserve the right, to provide you with any Meerkat Toy available.
All Meerkat Toys are subject to availability and some may be limited in stock or must be claimed within a specified period of time (such as Limited Edition toys). Comparethemarket.com reserve the right to remove the promotion at any time. Comparethemarket.com will give as much notice as we reasonably can when doing this. Any such amendments will be published Comparethemarket.com.
Receiving your Meerkat Toy
Comparethemarket.com will endeavour to send your Meerkat Toy to the UK address specified during the claiming process and within 90 days from either:
a.The date you claim your Meerkat Toy via the Rewards page on Your Account; or
b.The date Comparethemarket.com receive confirmation from the relevant third party product provider that the Qualifying Purchase has been made;
whichever is the later date.
Occasionally, delivery may be affected by factors beyond our control and so delivery cannot be guaranteed within the timeframe referred to above.
Some Meerkat Toys will contain specific restrictions as to suitability for use or have associated health and safety information. Any such restrictions or safety warnings will be clearly advertised on the Reward section of Your Account and with the Meerkat Toy when sent to you and/ or on the packaging with the Meerkat Toy. It is your responsibility to read any such restrictions or warning and ensure that the Meerkat Toy is suitable for your intended use.
Comparethemarket.com cannot guarantee that the appearance and/or colours of the Meerkat Toy shown are an exact reproduction of the appearance and/or colours of the Meerkat Toys advertised. Any sizes quoted are approximate.
Returning your Meerkat Toy
In the unlikely event that you receive a Meerkat Toy which is faulty, please notify Comparethemarket.com as soon as possible by following the returns instructions in the Rewards section on Your Account, providing details of the fault. Faulty Meerkat Toys are free to return but please obtain proof of posting. Comparethemarket.com will send you a replacement Meerkat Toy within 30 days of the faulty Meerkat Toy being received by us, subject to stock availability.
Comparethemarket.com cannot guarantee that we will be able to replace the faulty Meerkat Toy with the same Meerkat Toy; however, we will endeavour to provide a similar replacement.
PLEASE NOTE: Comparethemarket.com cannot provide you with a cash equivalent refund or any other form of alternative Meerkat Toy if you are not satisfied with the replacement Meerkat Toy sent to you.
Faulty Meerkat Toys must be notified to us within 30 days of receipt of the Meerkat Toy by you. Comparethemarket.com will not replace a Meerkat Toy where faults arise from normal wear and tear or accidental damage. Comparethemarket.com are unable to exchange Meerkat Toys for any other reasons other than the Meerkat Toy being faulty.
Comparethemarket.com accepts no responsibility for any damage, loss, liabilities or disappointment incurred or suffered by you or anybody else in connection with the Rewards. These terms and conditions shall only apply between you and us. Unless otherwise stated, no other person may benefit from or rely upon these terms and conditions.
Comparethemarket.com shall not be liable for any failure to comply with our obligations where the failure is caused by something beyond our reasonable control.
All Rewards are subject to availability and Comparethemarket.com reserve the right to substitute or remove any Rewards at any time. Comparethemarket.com shall provide you with as much notice as reasonably possible. Any amendment shall be published on Comparethemarket.com. In the event an advertised promotion subsequently becomes unavailable, we will provide an alternative at our discretion. There are no cash alternatives.
We reserve the right to change, add or remove any product currently defined as a Qualifying Product. Any amendments to the current definition of Qualifying Product will be published on Comparethemarket.com.
Comparethemarket.com reserve the right to amend these terms and conditions at any point without notice. Any amendments will be published on Comparethemarket.com.
Comparethemarket.com rely on the accuracy of the information provided by the third party providers of your Qualifying Purchase via Comparethemarket.com to verify your entitlement to Rewards. We accept no responsibility for any delay, failure, or error by a third party provider in notifying us that a Qualifying Purchase has taken place.
Third party providers will be unable to assist you with any enquiries on the Rewards; therefore, in the event you have any queries or disputes please contact us directly on here.
Nothing in these terms and conditions shall affect your statutory rights.
6. Data and Privacy
IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO THE TERMS YOU MUST STOP USING THE APP AND DELETE IT FROM YOUR DEVICE.
1.1 These terms apply to your use of the Meerkat Movies App ("App").
1.2 We may amend or modify these terms at any time and any changes will be published on comparethemarket.com. In some cases the new terms may be displayed on-screen of your device and you may be required to read and accept them to continue your use of the App.
1.3 From time to time we will update the minimum operating system our App supports when we release a new app version. This is to ensure we support the latest features as they are released by Apple and Google. You may not be able to use the App until you have downloaded the latest version of the App and accepted any new terms.
1.4 If the device is not yours, you confirm you have permission of the owner to download the App. Data and call charges may be applied by the mobile service provider when using the App. You accept responsibility for any such charges (whether the device is yours or not).
1.7 By using the App, you consent to us collecting and using technical information about the device and related software, hardware and peripherals for the services provided through the App that are internet-based or wireless to improve our products and to provide these services to you.
1.9 The App may contain links to other independent third-party websites (Third-party Sites). Third-party Sites are not under our control, and we are not responsible for and do not endorse their content or their privacy policies (if any). You will need to make your own independent judgement regarding your interaction with any Third-party Sites, including the purchase and use of any products or services accessible through them.
2. Intellectual property rights
2.2 You acknowledge that you have no right to have access to the App in source-code form and you will comply with restrictions detailed below.
3. Grant and scope of licence
(a) not to copy the App except where such copying is incidental to normal use of the App, or where it is necessary for the purpose of back-up or operational security;
(b) not to rent, lease, sub-license, loan, translate, merge, adapt, vary or modify the App;
(c) not to make alterations to, or modifications of, the whole or any part of the App, or permit App or any part of it to be combined with, or become incorporated in, any other programs;
(d) not to or attempt to disassemble, decompile, reverse-engineer or create derivative works based on the whole or any part of the App.
(e) not to provide or otherwise make available the App in whole or in part (including object and source code), in any form to any person without prior written consent from us.

5. Acceptable use restrictions You must:
(b) not infringe our intellectual property rights or those of any third party in relation to your use of the App;
(c) not transmit any material that is defamatory, offensive or otherwise objectionable in relation to your use of the;
(d) not use the App in a way that could damage, disable, overburden, impair or compromise our systems or security or interfere with other users; and
(e) not collect or harvest any information or data from our systems or attempt to decipher any transmissions to or from the servers.

6.1 You acknowledge that the App has not been developed to meet your individual requirements, and that it is therefore your responsibility to ensure that the facilities and functions of the App meet your requirements.
6.2 You agree not to use the App for any commercial, business or resale purposes which are not expressly agreed by us, and to the fullest extent permitted by law, we hereby exclude all liability arising out of or in connection with your use and/or misuse of this App, whether in contract, tort (including negligence) or otherwise, howsoever arising, including without limitation:
(a) all direct losses;
(b) all indirect, consequential and special losses;
(c) loss of profit, loss of data, loss of goodwill.
