Our communities – making an impact together

Supporting our communities is part of our DNA.  Our CSR strategy, 3.2.1 – Making an impact together, is bold, brilliant and all about doing good, together.

Making a difference: our 321 CSR strategy

Over the next three years starting in 2025, Compare the Market is investing £2 million to support 1 million people through our time, skills and funding, because making a real difference takes real energy and action. This ambitious strategy is focused on creating real impact and driving lasting change.

Our strategy is built on three significant pillars:

  • Purposeful partnerships – teaming up with charities who really know their stuff to tackle big, meaningful challenges to create lasting impact.

  • Meerkat your skills – using what we’re really good at to do great things for others

  • Characterful communities – supporting the causes that are close to our colleagues’ hearts.

Our charity partners

And the best bit? We’re kicking things off with two incredible new charity partners:

The Duke of Edinburgh's Award

We’re powering up tech and AI skills as part of the DofE Skills section, helping young people grow their confidence, curiosity and real-world tech know-how.

National Numeracy

Together, we’re boosting number confidence so more people can take control of their money and make smarter financial decisions. As well as being Lead Supporters of key campaigns, we have also become the newest member of the National Numeracy Leadership Council.

Compare the Market is driven to make a positive difference says Sara Rolph, CSR Manager at Compare the Market.

"At Compare the Market, our purpose is to help make financial decision-making a breeze for everyone. Confidence with numbers is a foundation for financial empowerment, and by partnering with National Numeracy, we’re not only supporting essential programmes and campaigns – we’re championing a future where everyone has the confidence to make informed financial decisions.

"Tech is the future and in our work with the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award we're helping young people build confidence in digital know-how, challenging the idea that tech isn't for them, and making sure everyone, no matter their background, has a fair shot at the careers of tomorrow. We want to help give thousands more young people the confidence and essential skills they need to thrive in the modern world.

"But it’s not just our partnerships – we’re also encouraging colleagues to use their time and talent to support charities and change lives."

Our other community initiatives

The Big Help Out

In 2024, we became a partner of the Big Help Out which aims to get everybody out and about volunteering in their communities. We created 50 Magical Meerkat Moments in our communities and more than 400 of our colleagues volunteered. On top of that, we had an absolute blast and we’re already excited about taking part again in 2026 when the UK’s biggest volunteering weekend returns in force.

Characterful Communities

Characterful Communities is all about making a difference where it matters most in our local communities and for the charities our colleagues care about.

Whether it’s team volunteering, fundraising with match funding, joining The Big Help Out, or giving through payroll, there are loads of ways to get involved and give back.

Colleagues can get involved via:

  • Match Funding – Colleagues can claim up to £1,000 each financial year to match their fundraising or personal donations, helping boost the impact they make.

  • Payroll Giving – Donate to any UK charity directly from your salary, with Compare the Market matching monthly donations up to £50. It’s tax-efficient, meaning charities receive more while it costs colleagues less.

  • Volunteering – Every colleague can take up to three paid volunteering days a year, whether for team activities, personal volunteering, or fundraising events.

  • Meerkits – Colleagues can nominate a youth sports club to receive up to £1,000 towards new kit, supporting grassroots sport in local communities.
