No more surprise price hikes from January 2025

Top tips to compare Black Friday broadband deals

  • Think about what internet speeds your household needs and compare deals to find the most reasonable price.
  • Make sure you’re happy with the contract length. You’ll usually need to pay an exit fee if you cancel early.
  • See if you could save money by packaging your broadband together with your home phone, paid TV subscription or mobile.
  • If you’re still in contract with your existing provider, check to see whether any early exit penalties will wipe out potential savings you might make with a new deal.
  • Make sure you know how long any introductory deals last for and consider the total cost – so the full contract length and any set-up costs. Then work out the total cost for the same period with your current deal to compare.
  • Check out reviews for customer service before you make your final decision.

Do Black Friday and Cyber Monday broadband deals come with a phone line?

That will depend on the deals on offer. But many providers will potentially offer a phone line as part of the deal, particularly in packaged or bundle deals where you might find even better value.

When should I start looking for Black Friday broadband deals?

It’s a good idea to start looking at deals at least two or three weeks ahead of Black Friday. If you do that, you’ll know what the current going rate is. Then, when you look at Black Friday deals, you’ll be able to assess how good they are by comparison.

Some providers start their deals early, at the start of November, to get ahead of their rivals, so keep an eye out for those too.

How long do Black Friday broadband deals last?

This varies among providers. Some like to offer a headline-grabbing deal but only for a few days, while others will be very keen to encourage new customers over a longer period.

How much can I save on broadband on Black Friday and Cyber Monday?

It depends on what you’re currently paying and which deals are available in your area.

Some Black Friday deals are about more than monthly savings. Providers throw in extra rewards, such as gift cards and shopping vouchers, bill credits, cashback or extra months of free broadband. There may also be tech offers, such as free headphones or a portable speaker, but these are less common these days.

Historically, providers have offered discounts around Black Friday so, depending on the last time you changed providers, you might find you can save on your broadband bill.

Alternatively, you might find that you could get more for your money – for example, more included in your package for the same price. But there’s no guarantee that Black Friday is definitely or always the cheapest time of the year to shop for broadband.

But don’t miss out on the chance to get a better broadband deal. Check out the possibilities and see if you can save.
