Make a complaint

We aim to provide a high standard of service to all our customers. Unfortunately, things can occasionally go wrong. When this happens, we do our best to resolve complaints quickly, fairly and transparently.

Complaints about products or services purchased through Compare the Market

If your complaint is about a product or service that you have purchased through Compare the Market, you’ll need to contact the relevant provider directly using their complaints procedure, which can usually be found on their website. We’re sorry, but we can’t handle these types of complaints.

How to make a complaint about our service

If you have a complaint about our service our dedicated complaints team is here to help.

  • Online - Fill out this form with as much detail as possible

  • Email - support@comparethemarket.com and we’ll attempt to resolve your complaint within three working days.

  • Post - Compare the Market Customer Care Manager Pegasus House Bakewell Road Peterborough, PE2 6YS.

  • Phone - While we don’t usually handle complaints over the phone, we’re happy to help where needed and can register your complaint by phone on request.

For the purposes of handling complaints, our working day is 8.30am – 5.00pm Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays.

What to include in your complaint:

To help us deal with your complaint as quickly and effectively as possible, please make sure to include:

  • Your full name

  • Postal address

  • Email address

  • Quote reference, if you have one

  • Contact telephone number

  • A clear description of what went wrong and why you’re unhappy

If we don’t have enough information to look into your complaint, we’ll get in touch to ask for more details.

How long will it take to hear back?

We aim to resolve complaints within three working days. If it takes longer, we’ll acknowledge your complaint and keep you updated. This will include the name and job title of the person handling your complaint.

We will send a final response within eight, or let you know why we can’t and when you can expect to hear from us.

Referring to the Financial Ombudsman Service

After eight weeks, or if you’re unhappy with our response to your complaint, you can refer your complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service. This is a free, independent service. This must be done within six months of our final response.
