Compare Sony mobile phone deals

Sony don’t just make TVs and cameras; they also have an extensive range of mobile phones – there’s an almost baffling number to choose from. In fact, it feels like Sony have gone out of their way to confuse with the startling array of phones and their same sounding names. But at comparethemarket.com, we don’t believe in complicated and like to make life as simples as possible. So we’ve broken down (not literally) all the phones in the Sony stable so you can see which one is the right one for you.

What’s so great about a Sony phone?

Most of the Sony phones can have their storage boosted by adding a micro SD card to give you even more space for downloads, films and music. Their flagship phone is the Xperia range – the latest, the Xperia XZ, is the newest (launched in October 2016), so if you like new stuff then this is the one for you.

As you’d expect from a technology giant who are known for making compact cameras and TVs, the newer phones come with great cameras and great screens – ideal if you’re an avid selfie taker. Gamers might also like the Sony range, if you’ve got a PS4 then you can hook up your phone to your PlayStation.

What’s on offer?

There are tweaks and variations between all the Xperia models and these will be obvious to any phone aficionados but to the rest of us, the differences are slight – think alterations to the casing. For example, the Xperia Z series uses frosted glass and has squarer edges but the X series is all metal.

What your choice of Sony phone ultimately comes down to, is camera, screen size and memory, although bear in mind you can upgrade your phone’s memory if this is a sticking point. Some of the newer Sony phones also boast being waterproof and dustproof (handy for all that lint in your jeans pocket).

So, down to the nitty gritty, here’s a whistle-stop tour of what’s available so you can compare Sony phones at a glance.
