We work with 47 car insurance providers that are regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA)1. This means they comply with a set of standards to make sure they provide fair pricing, clear communication and proper claims handling.

We regularly check that all our car insurance providers are regulated. But you can also look them up on the Financial Services Register before checking out.

1st Central

1st Central offers third-party, fire and theft, and comprehensive car insurance. Its value range includes all the essentials, including medical expenses and a courtesy car, at a lower price. 

There are several other options to help you tailor your cover level to your budget. 

Acorn

Acorn is a specialist insurance provider helping customers who may not be able to get cover from standard providers.

Admiral

Admiral is one of the UK’s leading car insurance providers, known for its telematics and multi-car policies. It has several different levels of cover to choose from to suit your needs and budget.

Budget

A UK broker specialising in car and van insurance. Budget Insurance has helped nearly three million people find flexible insurance over the years.

Churchill

Well-known for its nodding bulldog mascot, Churchill is one of the UK’s leading insurance providers. It offers cover options for young drivers, electric cars and more.

Dial Direct

Dial Direct focuses on car and van insurance. You can choose the features you need, and you’ll get RAC breakdown cover included as standard.

Diamond

Originally designed with female drivers in mind, Diamond now covers all drivers. Comprehensive policies can include benefits such as handbag cover and child car seat cover.

Elephant

Launched in 2000, Elephant was the first UK insurance company to offer car insurance products online. Today, it’s part of the Admiral Group and provides ‘no-nonsense’ car insurance.

Esure

Esure offers two car insurance products: esure and esure Flex. Both can cover electric and hybrid cars as well as standard petrol and diesel cars.

GoSkippy

UK insurance broker GoSkippy offers affordable car, van, motorbike, electric vehicle (EV) and telematics cover. They also provide travel insurance.

Hastings Direct

Hastings Direct offers car, van, motorbike and home insurance. Its car cover has three tiers: Essential, Direct and Premier, each including a range of benefits and extras to suit different needs and budgets.

There's also their YouDrive telematics policy, designed to help drivers save money through safe driving.

People’s Choice

People’s Choice is a car insurance broker owned by the Hastings Group. You can choose from comprehensive, third-party, fire and theft, and third-party only policies.

Post Office

Post Office offers Bronze, Silver and Gold car insurance policies. Each one comes with different add-ons and cover limits. 

Its car insurance policies taken out before 18 March 2026 are split into two categories: over and under 50s.

Privilege

Part of the Aviva Group, Privilege focuses on car and home insurance, protecting around 600,000 people in 2025.

As well as third-party, fire and theft and comprehensive cover, Privilege offers Comprehensive Plus. It comes with motor legal protection and 90 days’ comprehensive cover abroad as standard.

Quotemehappy.com

Over 630,000 people protect their cars with Quotemehappy.com. It also offers home and life insurance. 

Quotemehappy.com is completely paperless, making it quick and easy to manage your cover online. 

Saga

In partnership with Ageas, Saga specialises in comprehensive over-50s car insurance.

It offers three levels of car insurance cover: Saga Standard, Saga Select and Saga Plus. Saga Plus comes with a two-year fixed price, so you pay the same premium if your circumstances stay the same.

Tesco Insurance

Britain’s biggest supermarket Tesco also offers a range of insurance services. Tesco Clubcard members can get discounted car insurance. Every little helps!

Zenith

Zenith prides itself on providing “all the essentials without the fuss”. It offers car and van insurance for all drivers, including those with a low no-claims discount and points on their licence.
