Comprehensive cover

Car Insurance with Lloyds can offer the following benefits with comprehensive cover:

  • Damage to your own car if you’re in accident whether or not you are at fault.
  • Third party cover which includes damage to someone else’s car or property, or any claims made for personal injury by a third party because you were at fault in an accident.
  • Cover against theft or fire.
  • Windscreen cover including sunroofs.
  • Personal belongings.
  • Audio and navigation equipment.
  • Personal accident – a one-off payment to compensate you, or your partner, if you you’re in a fatal accident or badly injured, losing an eye or a limb in a car accident.
  • Emergency medical cover – should you need to pay for emergency medical treatment.
  • Courtesy car – subject to availability while your vehicle is being repaired at one of our approved repairers.
  • 3 year guarantee on repairs carried out at approved repairers.
  • European travel up to 60 days in any period of insurance within the EU at the same cover as you have in the UK.
  • Vandalism cover – if you find your car has been dented or scratched or otherwise damaged and you don’t know who did it.
  • Theft of keys cover - If your keys are stolen, you’ll be covered for new keys and replacement locks
  • New car replacement – if your car is stolen or written-off and it’s less than 12 months old and registered in your name, you’ll be covered for a new one of the same make, model and specification.

Optional extras

The following optional extras are also available with Car Insurance from Lloyds:

  • No Claims Discount Protection – if you need to make a claim on your insurance, you won’t lose your no claims discount.
  • Keycare – cover for lost or stolen keys anywhere in Europe, including locking them inside your car or home. All members of your immediate family are covered and they won’t apply an excess if you claim.
  • Motor Legal Protection – if you need help to claim your uninsured losses after an accident that wasn’t your fault, you’ll have cover to claim if you need to, for personal injury, loss of earnings, out of pocket expenses, car hire charges or the reimbursement of your policy excess.
  • Guaranteed Replacement Car Cover – use of a hire car if your car can’t be driven following an accident or damage by fire or theft. If it is damaged by fire or theft, stolen or written-off, or while you are waiting for a courtesy car.

Breakdown cover

Another great benefit that you can purchase to add on to car insurance with Lloyds is RAC Breakdown cover. There are 6 levels of cover to choose from:


Assistance at the roadside if your car has broken down and you’re more than a quarter of mile away from your home. If your car can’t be repaired it will be towed to the nearest garage.

Roadside and Recover

Roadside Assistance, plus transport for your vehicle, up to 7 passengers and yourself to travel to a UK destination.

At Home

Assistance from your home or within a quarter of a mile from where you live. Includes Roadside cover.

Onward Travel

In order to carry on with your journey you’re covered for alternative accommodation, car hire or public transport costs.

European Cover

Recovery and Roadside assistance in Europe or your vehicle transported back home. Includes alternative accommodation whilst your car is being fixed for a limited time.
