Who are Honda?
Honda’s first car was a sporty soft top called the S500, exhibited at the Tokyo Motor Show in 1962. Back then, the Japanese company was already a well-known motorbike manufacturer, but cars were new territory for the firm. It began to build factories nationwide and by 1966 had sales offices around the world.
Nowadays Honda is known for its success in Formula 1 racing, rallying and motocross, but the company continues to make popular bikes and cars for the domestic market.
In the UK, the cheapest model is the Honda Jazz, but our research shows the Civic to be by far the most popular Honda car.
Of course, you don’t have to buy new. There’s no shortage of second-hand models on the market, and Honda has an unrivalled reputation for making dependable cars. What Car? named it the most reliable used-car manufacturer for nine years running. And in a 2017 survey, the Honda Jazz came out top, with owners giving it an unheard-of 100% rating.
