Who are Mazda?
This Japanese company started life in Hiroshima in 1920. These days its biggest market is in the US, but sporty models like the MX-5 have also won it a serious fan club over here in the UK.
The Mazda2 is the smallest car in the Mazda family (confusingly, there’s no Mazda1). It’s a sporty hatchback that’s designed to turn heads, with looks that make it stand out on the street.
Strong on substance as well as style, the Mazda2 has a great record for safety and reliability. It’s won a string of international awards and frequently triumphs over its competitors in independent surveys.
Safety-wise, you’ve got a whole package of features, which includes six airbags, hill hold control and tyre monitoring. If the car detects skidding it will take control – great for wet UK roads. The idea is to give you confidence, so you can take more pleasure in driving.
You’ll also find a great infotainment system, with a seven-inch touchscreen, as well as Mazda’s own SKYACTIV technology.
