Compare Peugeot 107 car insurance

Who are Peugeot?

Did you know that Peugeot started as a coffee mill? The company was founded in 1810, making it the world’s oldest car manufacturer. It has a long list of bestselling cars to its name – not least the stylish little 107.

Launched back in 2005, the Peugeot 107 was developed in collaboration with Toyota and Citroen. This meant it was blessed with Toyota’s engineering standards, with an added touch of French flair.

Described by its makers as ‘cheeky yet chic’, the 107 was an instant hit with the public. Like the 206, it was designed as a city car, and urban streets are where it’s most comfortable. The steering’s light and there’s enough power to cruise through busy streets.

Sadly, the last Peugeot 107 rolled off the production line in 2014, but back in the day it was one of Peugeot’s bestselling models, and it still makes a decent first-time driver car. It has a strong reputation for reliability, too, with the German Automobile Club placing it at the top of the sub small car class, thanks to its low breakdown rates.

There were four versions of the car to choose from – the Access, Active, Allure, and Envy. Today these have been replaced by the Peugeot 108 and 108 TOP! Cabrio, which give you modern touchscreens, as well as options for personalising your car.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a Peugeot 107 cost to insure?

The Peugeot 107 only came with one choice of engine, and that was a small one, so the good news is that insurance tends to be at the lower end of the scale.

But how much you’ll pay for your insurance depends on a variety of factors, not least your age, driving experience, and where you live. Insurance providers will also want to know how you use the car, and what you do for a living.

They’ll also consider what insurance group the car belongs to. Insurance groups are numbered 1-50, and as a rule, the lower the number, the less insurance you’ll pay.

The Peugeot 107 belongs to insurance groups 3-5:

Model Insurance Groups
Access 3
Active 3
Allure 3
Envy 3-5

Can I cut the cost of my Peugeot 107 insurance?

There are a few short cuts to potentially lowering the cost of your car insurance. A great way is to build up your no claims discount.

If you’re a new driver and haven’t had time to do that, you might want to consider adding a more experienced driver to your insurance, or even getting a telematics policy.

Our advice is to avoid souping up your car – insurance providers don’t like modifications and you may end up paying more for your insurance.
