Who are Peugeot?
Armand Peugeot launched his first car – a steam-driven three-wheeler – at the Paris World Fair in 1889. And it’s fair to say the company’s come a long way since then. Five of its cars have won the European Car of the Year award, including, most recently, the 3008 in 2017.
Peugeot has had no end of successful launches over the decades. But the 206 – produced between 1998 and 2006 – is its all-time bestseller. Available as a hatchback, cabriolet and even an estate, the 206 had – and retains – mass appeal. It’s surprisingly nippy, too, and was even a triple world rally champion.
In 2006 the 206 was replaced with a newer model, the 207, but you can still find great deals on second-hand models, as well as other Peugeots, such as the 107.
