Compare Vauxhall Astra car insurance

Who are Vauxhall?

Vauxhall might now be owned by German carmaker Opel, but the company still maintains strong British roots, with a headquarters in Luton that employs some 900 people.

Since it was first created back in 1857 as a pump and machine engine manufacturer, Vauxhall hasn’t had a shortage of hits, not least the Cavalier and Corsa.

The Astra was a megaseller from its launch in 1979 and having shifted numbers in the millions, is today the fourth bestselling car in the UK ever.

Why so popular? This family car is a well-built, reliable, zippy little number that’s used in touring car racing all over the world. No wonder the police use it to get from A to B.

The Astra has undergone a number of facelifts since the early days, and 2015 saw the launch of the seventh-generation model. The latest models boast all kinds of features, including ergonomic driver’s seats with massage and ventilation, seven-inch colour touchscreens, and smart LED headlights for safer night driving.

Can I cut the cost of my Vauxhall Astra insurance?

Looking to cut the cost of your car insurance? There are a few ways that might help. One is to make the most of your no claims discount. Or, if you haven’t been driving long enough to build one up, you may want to think about getting a telematics policy. And consider carefully before you modify your car – some insurance providers may increase your premium as a result, if it makes your vehicle more valuable or attractive to thieves.
