Can I cancel a policy with Acorn?

You can cancel your policy whenever you like. There’s no cancellation fee for cancelling within the first 14 days. If you cancel between 15-30 days, there’s a cancellation fee of £50. It’s £100 if you cancel after that. You’ll lose any no claims discount you’ve earned during the policy.

Yes, you can give details of the driver you want to add using your online account, then Acorn customer services will get in touch to make the change. This may alter the premium charged.

Does Acorn offer black box insurance?

Yes. Acorn describes its black box insurance as being ideal for young drivers aged 17-24 and says it could lead to as much as a 40% discount when you renew your policy – if you’ve driven carefully. The cover includes theft tracking and access to a UK-based call centre.
