Why get car insurance from Post Office?
The Post Office has been a central part of our communities for centuries. In the UK, an astounding 93% of us live within one mile of a post office. It’s best known for sending and receiving mail, of course, but over the years it has expanded to offer a range of products and services, including car insurance.
Its standard car insurance is split into two categories – car insurance for the over 50s and car insurance for the under 50s. The over 50s car insurance is rated 5 star by Defaqto, and although you may not be able to pop into your local post office to discuss a claim, it does have a UK-based contact centre with a 24-hour claim number.
As well as car insurance, Post Office also offers:
- Credit cards – with offers on 0% balance transfers available to those who qualify.
- Current accounts – personal and business accounts are available, and as a bonus you can do your banking at any high street PO branch.
- Savings accounts – with easy access savings accounts, ISAs and bonds available.
- Mortgages – including mortgages for first-time buyers, buy-to-let mortgages and remortgages.
- Personal loans – borrow from £1,000 up to £25,000 for terms of 1-7 years.
- Travel insurance – choose from single trip, annual multi trip or backpacker extended trip cover.
- Gadget insurance – to protect your essential electronic equipment.
- Home insurance – with buildings insurance, contents insurance and combined cover available.
- Life insurance – Post Office is an award-winning life insurance provider and it offers policies for both the under and over 50s.
- Pet insurance – including lifetime, max benefit and time-limited policies for cats, dogs and rabbits.
- Van insurance – with optional extras including breakdown cover and tools and van contents cover.
