Whether you’re dusting those cobwebs away, washing the dishes or dragging your vacuum cleaner around the house, a good playlist can go a long way to getting that (cleaning) party started!
But what do you love to blast while you take on the dust, dirt, and grime? We’ve scoured Spotify for housework playlists to find out which songs top the list of those most cleaned to. With a list of 50,000 songs across 348 playlists, we were able to crown a winner!
Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello’s 2019 hit, Señorita topped the list, featuring on 44 of the 348 playlists researched. While the song may be one of the most recent hits on the list, it has a whopping 847,727,640 plays on Spotify.

When it comes to housework, it seems as though most of us are enjoying recent hits, with just a handful of golden oldies from bands such as Queen, Journey, and Bon Jovi.
Happy pop songs seem to be the most popular when listeners are reaching for the marigolds, with the likes of Shawn Mendes, Ed Sheeran, and Taylor Swift appearing in the top results.

While Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello may have the top song, it’s Taylor Swift who takes the top spot for the most popular artist, with her songs accounting for 432 of the total 50,000, closely followed by Ed Sheeran and Panic! At The Disco.

Methodology
We collated a list of 50,000 songs by using playlists created by users and by Spotify that had a reference to housework in their titles. We searched for playlists using the words ‘housework’, ‘tidy’, ‘cleaning’, ‘chores’, and ‘laundry’. This gave us a total of 348 playlists from which we got our list of songs.
By taking the songs from each of these playlists, we were able to find which songs and artists featured in the largest number of playlists, allowing us to discover which song is the most popular to listen to when doing housework and which artists are most listened to.
